Christ Community/ Baptist Operation Outreach Partially operating

The Mobile Van services are closed until further notice.  Free Homeless healthcare services are being provided at the 1325 Jefferson location at Catholic Charities.  We have launched virtual visits or telehealth to serve patients over the phone or via video conferencing for medical, behavioral health, nursing, and chronic –care management visits.  Non-Essential Visits will be rescheduled or converted to Virtual Visit.  Patients should call to be triaged and to receive medication refills.  Dental services are limited to emergency dental procedures only.  Drive-thru Covid-19 testing is available at Third Street by appointment only. 

Current needs: Sanitizer, N95 mask, mask with shields, gowns, and gloves.

Catholic Charities Partially operating

Staff is on-site at 50% capacity, on a rotating schedule. All staff and clientele are screened for COVID daily. Intake is being done by appointment only, 722-4707 Veterans, 722-4762 Nonveterans. There are designated days and times clients are allowed in the building for homeless assistance and assessment. Onsite appointments must pass a COVID screening tool and temperature check first. Clothing closet remains closed. Food distribution Mon-Thurs 8-10 walk/drive up only.

Current needs: masks and gloves for outreach, cleaning products, hygiene products, volunteers for food distribution, and food donations

CMI Fully operating

CMI is fully operational except for an adjustment to their hours (now Monday through Thursday 8 am to 5 pm) and the will be no Children's clinic on Saturdays while schools are closed.

Friends for Life Partially operating
Friends For Life is open and providing services remotely. Our main building at 43 North Cleveland will be open M-W 8:30 am-5 pm, Th- 8:30 am-12 pm and closed Friday. However, all staff are available and working remotely during our regular business hours M-F. The vestibule is open where clients can drop off documents and a phone to call needed staff. We are taking referrals for all services except Dental and STRMU. Dental only on an emergency basis as all our providers are on emergency based protocols or closed. Currently, we are updating week to week but this is in place until 4/10/20 and we will re-evaluate. If anyone has questions please call the main number for clarification 901-272-0855.

Hope House Partially operating
Open 8:30-noon Mon-Thursday for food pantry only. No one is allowed in the building and no contact with anyone is allowed. We only have two staff at each food pantry day. Food is left on the front porch. Staff is available on cell to talk to clients but all in-person activities are suspended. We are still doing emergency rental and utility assistance by phone only. We are also still in contact with housing clients and paying their rents etc. Email is the best way to contact staff (list on website).

The Hub has increased operations and staff to provide case management, supportive services, and sheltering in place at 3 locations for all populations.

COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund: For eligibility the client must be a resident of Shelby County, LGBTQ+, and victim of a crime or experienced trauma. Click here for the application.

Manna House Partially operating  Updated schedule: Monday from 5-6 pm open for take-away meals. Open Thursday from 8-10 am for restroom access and giving out bags of hygiene items. The regular schedule is suspended until further notice, and no longer serving coffee or offering shower access. 3/22/20
OUTMemphis Partially operating
  • We are continuing our HIV testing program at our center on Cooper (892 S. Cooper St, Memphis, TN 38104) from 6-9 on Mondays and Wednesdays
  • Our youth housing and emergency services program is still active but has moved to by appointment only. If you know someone who would like to make an appointment they can contact [email protected].
  • Most social-support groups have moved online and the schedule can be found on the COVID-19 page on our website: found here
  • We are giving out food and hygiene kits at our center on Cooper, Monday-Thursday, 9-6pm. During that time we are also open for phone referrals and questions, but we are not open for general drop-in services. For an LGBTQ+ realted issues, please contact the center at 901-278-6422 or email us at [email protected].
  • If you identify as LGBTQ+, please complete this community survey to help determine the true needs of the LGBTQ+ community so we can be sure that we are filling any gaps in services now and in the future.

Shelby County Crime Victims & Rape Crisis Center Partially operating CVRCC's essential services remain: Sexual assault forensic exams (commonly known as rape kits) are available to victims of sexual violence 24/7. Victims should contact law enforcement as usual (they can still decide later if they want to move forward with an investigation). Victims of family violence, sexual violence, or stalking can still access orders of protection. CVRCC advocates will screen all cases and assess the safety needs of each victim prior to any in-person services. All other victim services will be provided remotely. Currently working remotely but still fully operational. Applications for shelter will be completed online. Interviews will be conducted by video.

VETERAN SERVICE PROVIDERS
VA Homeless Department Fully operating (with caution)

The VA Homeless Department that is located at 1407 Union Ave, Suite 1100 is open from 8a-4:30p daily. Masks and hand sanitizer are available immediately upon entry. Intake and screening for GPD Transitional Housing and HUD-VASH housing vouchers remains fully operational but with social distancing protocol. Primary source of communication is preferred through virtual contact or phone (901-523-8990 x5661). Strongly urge calling ahead and making an appointment but an appointment is not necessary. If a Veteran doesn’t have such equipment access, then walk-ins are available at the VA Homeless Department and in the Social Work Service Office at the main VA Medical Center.

Our drop-in center has been closed but all other services are fully operational and we hope that to be true for the duration of this event.

For Veteran Emergency Housing Assistance: Must call 722-4707, discharge status above dishonorable, 50% or below AMI, and literally homeless. Enroll in SSVF and receive temporary EHA during housing navigation.
