Project Homeless Connect 2019

Recognized as one of the largest service opportunities of its kind, Project Homeless Connect - Memphis places services and resources that are needed to exit homelessness under one roof. During this annual event, city agencies, service providers, community partners, and volunteers will come together to create a “one-stop shop” for individuals experiencing homelessness. This year's event will be held on Thursday, October 17th, from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. at the Pipkin Building (940 Early Maxwell Blvd).

There will be access to resources, such as:

  • Vision Screenings
  • Health Evaluation
  • Dental Evaluation
  • Housing Counseling
  • Housing Referrals
  • Employment Services
  • Veterans Benefits
  • HIV/AIDS Testing & Support
  • Legal Assistance
  • Haircare
  • Mental Health Services
  • Social Security Services
  • Substance Abuse Services
  • Medicaid/Food Stamps

Each participant will also receive a care bag, filled with toiletries and other necessities, as they exit the building.

How You Can Help

  • Each person experiencing homelessness will be paired with a Navigator for the day.  Navigators will provide “mobile hospitality” guiding their guest to the services that they need. Our day begins at 8am and ends at 3pm, but different shifts are available.  A few volunteers are also needed for the Registration and Food stations. Training will be provided, either online or in a group setting. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

  • We also need additional supplies for the approx. 400 care bags! Organizations can pick up some bags (with basic essentials in them) at the CAFTH office.  These can be completed with items like socks, warm hats, small fleece blankets, and water bottles.
  • You can make a donation through our Amazon wish list.  It will be delivered to our CAFTH office!
  • We are also collecting protective cases for glasses.  Many of our guests receive a pair of glasses at the event, but do not have anything to put them in to protect them from getting scratched or broken.
